New Vice President of Sales

ST. CHARLES, IL (June 7, 2002) – Recognition Source, the leading provider of wireless access peripherals, is pleased to announce that Dominic Piperno, former vice president of sales for Indala, a former division of Motorola, has joined Recognition Source as its vice president of sales.  Recognition Source has just created this position as a result of its continued growth in this burgeoning new product category.  Mr. Piperno will lead the field sales team as well as the manufacturers’ representatives and internal sales staff.

“We are so pleased to have a leader of Dominic’s caliber join us.  He brings a wealth of industry and customer knowledge that will be indispensable to the ongoing sales growth of the Wireless Access product line,” commented Fred Conforti, president of Recognition Source.

Since the introduction of the product line at ASIS last October, over 10,000 Wireless Access solutions have been specified, bid, sold or installed.

Upon being asked what he saw as his first priority, Mr. Piperno commented, “My first challenge will be to help the integrators understand and accept the double paradigm shift that Wireless Access presents.  First, they have to become comfortable with RF replacing wires and second, they have to become comfortable with dealing with lock hardware.  Neither of these will be easy but when the savings on a job is typically 88% of the labor cost, the rewards will be worth the effort.”  Many integrators, especially the early adopters that have been installing the products, seem to agree.

“With Wireless Access being adopted and supported by so many original equipment manufacturers like NexWatch, Apollo, MAXxess, Best Access, Johnson Controls and other software providers, my second challenge will be to bring structure to the market,” he continued.  “I’m excited to join Recognition Source because the prospects for changing how access control systems are installed are compelling.  Wiring an access control system together on site will soon become a thing of the past when using a Wireless Access solution.”
