Wireless Access Products Now Available with
AWID Readers

Recognition Source unveiled one of the newest enhancements to the Wireless Access product line at ISC West 2004.

ST. CHARLES, IL (March 31, 2004) — Wireless Access announces that it now offers the AWID reader on select Wireless Access products.  AWID  readers are leading edge access control RFID readers which have 40 – 60% better reader range than their competitors.

The AWID reader is available on the Modular Integrated Reader Lock, the Wireless Exit Kit, and the Wireless Portable Reader. 

Modular Integrated Reader Locks (MIRLs) are intelligent, integrated locks which incorporate everything needed at the door for online, real-time access control. All wiring around the door and to the control panel is eliminated.  The MIRL combines all elements required at the door for complete access control into one fully integrated package.  The card reader, electric lock, Request-to-Exit sensor, Door Position Switch, power supply and RF communications are included.  Using them cuts installation time from several hours, to about 45 minutes per door. 

The Wireless Exit Kit (WEXK) eliminates wiring to the door or around the door for panic bar hardware on entrance/exit doors.  The WEXK combines the Reader Module, Trim Faceplate including electric lock, Door Position Switch, transceiver Module including power supply and Request to Exit Kit.   Installation time is reduced by up to 80%. 

The Wireless Portable Reader (WPR) provides instantaneous access control anywhere.  Uses include muster, guard tour, bus load registration and temporary check points.  There is no waiting for installation.
